Equipment Operator/Maintenance Technician

The Clearwater Highway District is seeking a dependable, hardworking Equipment Operator / Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, works safely and efficiently, and is willing to perform a variety of tasks as needed.

Starting Pay: $28.00–$34.00 per hour, DOE 

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, pickups, and other District equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of District vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

• Inspect equipment and identify maintenance or repair needs.

• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.

• Perform carpentry, shop maintenance, cleaning, and general manual labor.

• Assist with highway and roadway maintenance activities.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor/Foreman. 

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.

• Mechanical, welding, carpentry, or general maintenance experience is preferred.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions; some evening and/or weekends required depending on weather.

• Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment, vehicles, and tools.

• Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must have a 30-minute response time to Weippe Shop.
